Texas Children’s Health Plan, a subsidiary of Texas Children’s Hospital, is relocating its headquarters to a new building in Bellaire.
The health insurance and Medicaid provider has signed a 10year lease to occupy the top seven floors and 138,599 square feet of the current Chase Bank and WorleyParsons Ltd. building at 6330 West Loop South, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Owner Accesso Partners told the Chronicle the company will move into the building in February. Texas Children’s Health Plan will be relocating from 2450 Holcombe Blvd. and will increase its staff from 350 to about 900, the Chronicle reported.
Texas Children’s Health Plan is subleasing the space from WorleyParsons, which will move to new offices in the Energy Corridor, according to the Chronicle. Michael Adams, Texas asset manager, represented Accesso Partners in the deal.
Texas Children’s health care system is undergoing a number of expansion projects in the Houston area.
The hospital plans to invest $50 million into several projects at its west Houston campus near the Energy Corridor that will increase operation room counts, add more beds, convert office space to clinical space and more.
It has begun construction on an expansion of its Clear Lake health center and is also underway on a new facility in The Woodlands and a patient tower in the Texas Medical Center.
Texas Children’s Hospital is the area’s 10th largest health care system, according to HBJ research.
