BREWERY TO OPEN LOCATION NEAR RTP: The craft beer scene near Research Triangle Park is about to get a boost.

Tobacco Wood Brewing Co. of Oxford is opening a taproom and restaurant
in a business park west of RTP. The woman-owned brewery has leased
4,700 square feet in the Accesso’s Meridian Business Park off Highway
55 north of Interstate 40 in Durham.

This will be Tobacco Wood’s second location. The brewery was founded by Army veteran Mara Shelton in 2018 and currently features dozens of craft beers.

“Expanding into Durham was something we had been contemplating for a while, and we could not have dreamt of a better location than the one we will be opening at Meridian Business Park,” Shelton said in a statement. “Not only is Meridian Business Park ideally located within the Research Triangle, but the
campus is energetic and inviting, which – as anyone who has visited our brewery in Oxford knows – is a staple of the Tobacco Wood Brewing experience.

The brewery is set to open in the spring.

“We’re excited to welcome Mara and the rest of the team to Meridian Business Park,” said Marc Bellet, director of asset management and national director of development at Accesso.

“We expect our tenants and the rest of the community will enjoy Tobacco Wood Brewing’s famous craft beers on our campus for years to come.”
